Or as soon as possible (say, 5 years old, when supposedly a personality is set -- depends whether you believe that type is inborn or not). Ideally it should be done with some purely objetive way (like a machine that tells you your type -- which hasn't been invented yet), but barring that, a team of experts (VI practitioners, test administrators, etc) would do the typing. The key is that the type is known with a certitude as close to 100% as possible. Once the type is known, it would be documented in a file, in the same way that your blood type is is documented, and it would be used for various things during the person's life (which could be manyfold, I welcome any input regarding what it could be used for).
Now, the question is how much the system should arrange a person's life depending on his/her type: should it be purely informative and let the person make their own decisions, or should the stablishment plan the person's life in accordance to their type (career choices, health matters, partner preference...)?
