hello, i'm french so please excuse in advance possible language issues:)
i'm new on this forum, but not a stranger to socionics. A friend of mine introduced me to socionics starting off simple with the MBTI and quickly telling me there was a fuller, more complex system, and that was socionics. So it's been 4 years now since we read almost all of the websites profiles descriptions, inter-type relations ETc ETc, and we made a hobby out of typing people, wich has also been of great help for me to interact more subtlely with every one (I am LSE - ESTJ, and my friend is IEE - ENFP), i have really learned to understand how to communicate more effectively with people that i had a hard time understanding before. I think it has also helped me use know when i am using wich function and know how to make the best of it and focus on my fortes but also my lesser functions. It has also made me accept my FE role in society, i used to put a lot of pressure on myself when meeting people and in relations, and it has relaxed me a lot to just accept that i must not put pressure on myself to be as casually social as someone who has a lot more of FE in their functions. i am in litterature sudys wich has made it possible to use my NE and FI a lot, and am doing good in this department, so was surprised when seeing that most ESTJs go to finance and more concrete productive line of work, because this does not attract me much. i started law studies, was good at it, but found it soo boring and formal - this is another thing that surprises me in most the ESTJs descriptions is the formal aspect, millitary like organisations and such. this does not attract me, even tho i do love a good system and organisation in whatever i am doing - this i apply in my research studies in litterature and it has paid of quite a bit.
I have a good circle of close friends wich are mostly Delta, so mostly we use same functions and learn from each other, but also have friend in the Gamma and beta, it mostly deppends on the activity we are doing.
One of my biggest problem with all this is with dating. i have had girlfriends over the last years and my last two relations where with an SEI-(ISFP) and a i think an IEI, and it didn't go so well, and socionics sometimes helped explain some problems but not all of it. i rarely meet ESTJ girls, or just plain misstype them. I have hard time typing someone, but once i do, i can make links between behavior and different functions and start to see how each function affects the other one when taking their respective places in account. When typing people I often get it Wrong at first, i don't know if my TE is making conclusions a little based on only what i see, and maybe my FE role makes me miss a lot of what i could be sensible to if i had more.
that's all i can think about right now, if their are any ESTJs out there, it would be nice to know if you have become better at typing and all, i would like to hear that. and just know how you live it. :)
