Becoming aware of the creative function

Hi.

I recall having read somewhere that the creative function doesn't come 'into play' until much later in life (relative to the dominant function). As i can't find the article i'd read (years ago) i was wondering if you have encountered this somewhere in your readings? Essentially, is it true? And if yes, what did you read about it?
