Woah okay, I think he heard us. Amen, Dr. G!? Last time the complaint was that he didn't say anything new but now there he goes. THERE HE GOES.
DCNH is trending again or what :shifty:  We're up for a typology revolution.

Native speaker, help choose good name for Te (Extraverted Thinking)

I'm trying to compile russian-english dictionary of socionics terms and would like to discuss best name for Te.
Aushra called it black-logic (black means extraverted)

Gulenko call it "business logic" (direct translation from russian) or "P" (from latin Profiteor) but in english business logic means business rules which is opposite of sense of P.
P means action, P person is always doing something, something profitable. Entrepreneur (ENTJ) is always experimenting trying to find something new and make profit of it. Administrator (ESTJ) is just workaholic, the best type to organize production of anything.

I have some variants to discuss. What do you think ?

pragmatic logic (two much sensing)
practical logic (two much sensing)
profitable logic (two much focus on profit, Admin is focused on productivity)
productive logic
action logic (i like this one, because it shows dynamics of the function)
work logic
commercial logic
lucrative logic (not good because P is rational, meaning working constantly, all the time)

Hi. I am ENTp wanted to discuss some things, he he he.

I shall now takeclose or actually myme to discuss my own reasons for my type.

I have taken, over the course of now 8 or so years, an increased interest in the ideas of personality, in an attempt to improve my productiveness, which I feel is hampered by personality. In that goal, I have learned a great deal.

First, there exists a placebo effect. It can cause a person to behave as they perceive.

Second, I fell for it. That is why I am here now, to legitimately discuss my type.

So uh, yeah, I’m now going to say what I am.

I am rational to a fault. I do not forget things important to me, but, given the extremeness of my emotional outbursts, I can lose information in the heat of things. I can second guess myself. It is odd. Oh yeah, I really love logic. I can generally point out holes in an argument. I do not use feeling in this. Logic is a learned skill (?) Nobody is born with the innate ability to read a lawyer’s work.

I have a habit of rewriting posts, which increases time immensely. This is my argument for feelings. I also am incredibly easy at gaining intense atchment of others.

I can make myself feel whatever I want. This is a skill I learned in kindergarten.

This is how I empathize with people. I look at them, and do exactly what they are doing. This was learned recently, because I have poor eyesight, and as such never looked at people in the detail required to do this.

I believe because I could not see, I did not learn these behaviors. I actually somehow passed the eye exams, even though I do not have any memory of my sight changing. It is a known problem that eye issues can go undiagnosed. Something did change in that time, where I have forgotten how to pass the eye exam without glasses.

Knowing that it is a switch between ethics and logic, I will say what I have said to my friends, which they know. I have never gotten into a fight, and am an unconfirmed pacifist.

The way I perceived conflictors is mildly incorrect. It is a matter of not being able to conceive of their thought process. Also, the way socionics works, it ignores the fact that politics, culture, and all those things matter. If I was speaking to Mussolini, while I would be polite, I’d probably be different than to how it’d be with some guy on the street. Status and perceived status are of importance in this meaning.

I will state something that does weigh on my mind, I do feel as though I am a parasite on society. I’ve decided that it’s pretty true, as my conscientiousness is pretty garbage. However, It is and has been a point that I will not marry for money, but rather for love. That is going to kill me. Anyways, jokes. My romantic life is very odd.

So, uh, I have at times gotten REALLY concerned with otherworldly things. Seems good art, art that has been given awards is good art for me.

1. Based on my knowledge of people, just people I know, there are more types than this theory picks, even with subtypes.

2. There are more cognitive functions than are predicted by the theory. For example, Mi, Mind in, which is the process of actively thinking about the self. While it can be Fi, I differentiate it by my way of remembering things. It seems more reasonable to say I hash things by way of feelings and I think to myself by words. Don’t you dare say that is intuition. IF anything, it is Ti, but I doubt it. Intuition is likely sense based, and does not generate senses, but internally projects them. <<< I’m not making that more easy for you, that’s how it works, contradiction and all. I would also like to o separate memory from feeling and senses, because then I’d be entirely a memory sensory user. Take that advice you may. There are also physical functions, which I do not care to go into, but I am actually good at them. Similarily, there is a cognitive process to ignore the concsequences of actions. I’ll label it R for repression. It can be used to do repetitively acts that may or may not help, and ignore things. Think of a Woman who is physically able to do great feats of physicality short term that will cause long-term distress. I am learning it from my mother and it runs in my family. Uncle has it too. I’d hesitate for it to be Si, but that would make sense.

I have had a psychosis before, but really, that is because of sociological factors. It has helped though. I would imagine that INFj is the most likely to do so in the circumstances in this world.

Obviously, I think of functions as being processes that occur in the mind, much like a computer, and it is the way I believe they should be taken.

So, as usual, that went out hand, but yeah, I’m probably either INTj or INFj, even though there is an argument for logic. Don’t confuse logic with rationality.

In otherwords, what type is Sigmund Freud? A person who analyzes things with the greatest of vigor. Tends to never consciously forget. Someone who cannot contain their emotions. Never projects. Can recall things semi-randomly with a ton of weight on one side. Projects to bouts of repression. Really likes trait psychology, the art of labeling. Thinks of this as condensed trait psychology. Think she there is something wrong with society. It is systematic, and sociological. I can say why by facts, but it takes time. Tends to think of weird words for common phrases, which is a problem with my mom, who doesn’t think so quickly, but rather uses physical reflex for most things. INTj? INFj? I picked INFj EII. By the way, Sherlock Holmes is stupid, the Doctor is stupid and stupidly lucky, Mycroft Holmes is good. Good, not excellent. You see his mistakes when Sherlock Holmes solves things for him.

Oh yeah, I am the process that chooses what to accept, which is why I disassociate with actors such as Jim Kerry, who practically have no self exception for that which pleases theor audiences. That is probably a sign that I hate a part of myself.

Confidence is above 5, which is why I post again. Sorry if quality is poor, I did this on a slow phone. Like at times it lags.

It means you people all disgust me on some level because the information given is misleading on what INFj is and can be. Pretty much I’m angry because you are wrong. Probably the best way I can write it in five seconds. I’ve found several INFj presidents, from Woodrow Wilson to Benjamin Harrison (confirmed) to possibly Jefferson. Notable traits, do very little, but are very uncompromisingly moral. We’re the Mary Sues of the world and that is true to a fault, such that we’re willing to kill our parents for us compromising a value to avoid their scorn, suffer multiple psychosises to mend a family, whack a kid in the knees to charter eye for an eye, and then go home and cry about it compromising a moral value of not dealing pain. Autism is probably a god diagnosis. Finally, if one of us is talking to you, you are being analyzed immediately. Just hope you are not in Nazi Germany, because they, have some different values from what I’ve been told.

Oh yeah, sorry for bothering the Gammas. The internet practically bleeds Te, so I can just use that as to say I have a ton of it, because I have the internet in my hands, eidetic memory, and way too much free time. I’ll post more honest and well written posts. I have been practicing because of afformentioned free time.

TL;DR I think I’m INFj.

Te and Not Te

inspired by the concept of "logic of actions" in another current thread.

I can't find the remote
Te: it's typical for remotes to get stuck between couch cushions or get knocked under the couch
Not Te: look under the couch

I don't know what computer to buy
Te: based on your stated needs, you will want x, y, and z in a computer, I find that they're affordable at such-and-such store
Not Te: buy a mac at the apple store tomorrow

I'm nervous about my job interview
Te: some questions they're likely to ask are _____. it helps to dress well and talk about ____.
Not Te: wear gray slacks and say the following words ____.

I often come across examples of types, IM elements, or relationships in the news that are interesting yet aren't enough to merit a whole thread. So, I will post them here.

link (big pdf)

Here, a Russian math teacher named Zvonkin describes his experience in teaching children. He seems like an IEE or maybe some other Ne valuing extrovert. "If I taught kids anything at all, it was the idea that they should experience their world with openness and interest."
Not surprising, he says about his wife: "Usually Alla drew pictures for our sessions. I cannot draw at all, while she once attended art school." (Si)

He also describes the boys' personalities:

"They toss out a flurry of wild guesses. Each shouts a different guess,
only Gene’s being the right one. I try to listen to him and to ask why but at
this moment he retreats. His problem in general is that he is timid. When
all the boys holler, he is the one who shouts the correct answer more often
than others do; but the moment I calm the others and address him directly,
he is embarrassed and falls silent. My problem with Andy is of a different
sort. He is a very goal-oriented boy yet apparently lacks motivation at our
lessons. Next time, I camouflaged the same puzzle as a war scene: instead
of matches and buttons, we had soldiers with guns, then the soldiers went
away leaving their guns behind, and the spy had to learn the number of
soldiers, and it was he who first got the idea to count guns. He also loves
games where one can win. But I don’t always have enough imagination to
package my puzzles appropriately, especially since it’s not that important
for the other boys. As for Dima, he does not fancy solving other people’s
puzzles but prefers to invent his own. Eventually I learn how to handle him:
I say something like, “Now think of a puzzle where. . . ” and then give my
own formulation. Also, his solutions are often oddly fanciful (as the next
example vividly illustrates) and it is difficult to hold him within the limits
of common sense."

Andy: Se leading?
Dima: IEI?
Gene: LII?

He tries very hard to tailor the instruction to the individual child.

Another funny quote about Dima:
"“This one is an uncle but it looks like a lady,” he would
say, pointing to a picture of a bearded old man, and place it in the women’s
pile. He would say that a tire was a piece of clothes because you could put
it around your waist. When contradicted, he would explain that it was a
car’s clothes."

Typical example of Te vulnerable / Fe creative

"Thus I have come to realize that kids must have fun in both intellectual
and aesthetic ways. If one is missing, there is no joy. A Christmas tree
without ornaments is as unappealing as are mere ornaments without a tree.
The joy is in their union. I hope that one day, when my pupils are engaged in
more abstract and “intellectual” mathematics, they will enjoy it more than
their peers, because abstract notions and images will subconsciously blend
with a “Christmas tree feeling;” the memories of brightly colored puzzles
from their childhood."

Hmm...maybe Alpha extrovert is better for Zvonkin. One kind of fun is Fe/Si, the other is Ti/Ne.

that LSE/whoever might seem like they know best because they are telling you what to do so confidently, but trust your own instincts. maybe you can't explain why you don't think they're right on the spot, but after you've cleared up your thoughts (write them out, it helps), talk to the person. if they are a good, intelligent person, they will be more receptive than you'd expect.

speak up for yourself if you feel like there's a pattern of disrespect. often the other person doesn't even mean it the way you've been taking it, so it won't even cost them anything to behave differently, and you'll feel a lot better knowing what they actually meant.

don't follow authority figures blindly just because they Te you. your own vision is better than you think. even if it's not really good, can you live with yourself if you fail because you tried to follow someone else's vision? fail following your own. or, more likely, finally succeed.

*might not apply to all EIIs since some of us can be pretty irresponsible. applies only to the ones that feel reluctant about this, that it's hard to do.

wishing everyone the best.

The IEIs I know seem to have strong Si. They love order, notice sensations like smell taste looks and are good at providing these sensations. Is this just a manifestation of another function?

I'll use my example.
I'm creative subtype, which means I have strengthened Ne among other functions which include Fe.
Does that mean I fall under EII-Ne? If I do, it means I have lower than usual polr (Se) which doesn't make sense because Se is also a strengthened function with the C subtype (within the type's dimension, of course).
Does anyone see the dilemma?

Chae Types Her Handsome Favorites

When was the last time I sincerely sat down to type a person in depth? Ummm.... err..... now. It's now. I apologize. This thread's for my handsome favorites. That I am very emotionally invested in. So I can actually analyze their material with some, let's say added grit to move past the surface. Because remember: Love and commitment can move mountains :flame:

I write mini annotations for each interview about my impression, they are random. And yes I use the Russian names for the types because they sound extra sophisticated.

Starting off.

Logan Lerman - Dostoevsky

- Effortless :Fi:, can establish good interpersonal bonds everywhere
- Emphasis on liking an being liked comes up often, knows the preferences of others, voices his own
- Deflects :Se: question about competition with level of closeness, comfort, creative freedom
- Troubled by physical challenges, not portraying the character: NF > ST
- Extremely suggestive and seemingly desperate for someone to organize and monetize his projects properly, business sense (:Te:)
- Described as serious about his work ethic by the interviewer which he agrees with
- Roles are touchy-feely
- :Fe: comes out also as deflection. You had a good time? - Oh yes... yes of course, we had fun etc. while in fact he won't "mess around".
- First step to choosing a movie is to find a talented director to get along with (:Fi:, :Ne:)
- Overall impression of Ij + :Se: PoLR: introverted (like all of his characters he plays), not volatile, innocent, soft, linear, constrained demeanor
- Likes what is comfortable :Si:, prefers non-confrontational approach, appeases and adapts
- Shies away from raging large audiences, he isn't about being fervent or rough (rejection of Beta values)
- Caught in what he does as a profession, requires help
- :Ti: is not really mentioned except how he handles scripts, but again it's about being on the same wavelength with other actors reading it (ethics)
- Strong :Ni: - talks about his progression as an actor, forecasts, estimates how events (aka movies) follow another, a waiter rather than a doer, interested in developing story arcs
- Idea-focused > body-focused
- Family and friends are very important, as is freedom of creativity and exploring many options. :Fi:-:Ne:
- Stacking and tritype: something around SX-last 6w7 2w3 9w1

Here's the interview. Look at this cute glazed bun. Somebody open the window, he's sweating from being so hotttt

Genres/types of music and information elements

Do certain styles of music pander to specific information elements/sociotypes?

What is Se music? Ti music?

Have you noticed any tendencies in the people you know?

What do you like, and what is your current typing?

If going by my current typing (LII-Ne, and presuming socionics is linked with music taste) does Ti like fugues, complex chord changes, systematication? I like Bach, Scarlatti, Gesualdo, Schubert, Langgaard. I notice that i like when music has a pattern to be solved and recognized (though this is true for all music) In the pop realm i like CAN, King Crimson, Kate Bush, Bowie, Captain Beefheart, Slint

What kinds of music do you associate with which information elements or types?

http://philosopherswheel.com/explainquestions.htm

you have to calculate your own results but there's a cool philosophy/mbti correlation chart at the bottom of the page. I know it's not socionics but I always thought it'd be an interesting way to discover philosophies and philosophers whose views might match up with your own. there's another version of the chart which correlates your results with enneagram types. I think there's even a section dedicated to finding correlations between astrology and typology.
