How to tell the difference between the IEI idealising you and being attracted to you.
Hey Guys
So there's an IEI I find very attractive and we're really close friends. In fact we recognise each other as soulmates and chat to each other online everyday (no surprise to anyone who knows socionics given we're duals) and our chats are full of playful teasing and jokes. We also catch up in person once a month or so and feel the leveling of energy that duals experience (we spend 4 or 5 hours together and the time flies by and is never awkward). He's also much younger than me, 14 years younger actually and still only 18! As extraordinary as that is what makes it even more extraordinary is that we originally met simply by him serving me groceries at a corner store every week - and we built up a friendship from there.
We both love each other and hold each other in high esteem. He's amazed that I can tell that he feels bounded by a special energy and that I can tell his soul is poetically elevated (I know many IEIs feel this but I actually believe it's true!). He sees me as a very capable and successful person, setup with a house and prestigious career (which is objectively true) and wants to emulate me in that regard. In fact he wants me to help look after him in his career and work for me later on. We've occasionally joked about him being the stay at home partner just wandering about while I'm the breadwinner. I think the easy life appeals to him as it does many IEIs.
He also has a girlfriend and has said he's straight. But I think he just might be hiding a bit as he is quite young. What makes me think he's hiding a bit is that when we hang out he lets me get away with a lot of playful touching. I'll grab hold of him around the waist. I'll brush my hand on his legs, I'll stoke his hair, when we speak I'm very much in his personal space, I mean real close, way closer than friends should be. Another time we were chatting he was sitting down and protruding his chest a bit while rubbing his chest from side to side. On another occasion he was outside his other work and wasn't expecting me and when I surprised him he gave me this really loving look with fawning eyes. Another friend of mine was with me and told me afterwards completely unprompted that I have a good chance with him. It was the look described in this post below:
http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...ted-to-someone
So I suppose what I want to know is whether he does find me attractive or whether he's simply idolising me the way that IEIs do with people they see as capable of helping them.

Yet another questionnaire
Tell me about yourself
19, female, Italy
What do you study or do for a living? How did you come to do that? What do you like or dislike about it?
I'm a chemistry student. I've had a weird time in high school before finding what I really liked. I had originally enrolled to a school focused on learning and translating latin, greek, french, and literatures. I liked translating and studying linguistics as much as I hated literature. It seemed to make no sense at all. On the top of that, my class was mostly formed by girls, and the vibe was just too emotionally tense for me.
So I dropped out a year before my diploma and enrolled to another school, where I had the chance to study chemistry, biology, maths and physics. After a while, a few failed tests and a lot of studying I was perfectly integrated with the new subjects, sometimes challenging the best students in my class. Overall, I loved physics and chemistry the most, because they came weirdly natural to me. I loved the buzz they gave when everything was working inside of my head. People in my class were terribly harsher than my previous ones.
After that, I wanted to keep on studying chemistry and physics. So I chose the first one, the subject I resonated the most with and which came easier to me.
I still don't regret that.
What are your values, and why?
Knowledge and intelligence - I'm terribly annoyed when people don't seem able to reason and when myself can't do that.
Kindness - I'm not able to properly deal with harshness or aggressiveness. I irrationally take it personally and retreat instantly.
What else do you do on a daily basis? What are your interests and hobbies? Why do you do them?
I have the autistic habit of spending hours every day walking in circles and thinking. I lose a lot of time like that. Apart from that, I used to study a lot of things by myself when my energy levels were higher and I didn't suffer from insomnia (russian, coding, I had started studying greek in middle school, astronomy, dog training, etc), now I feel like I'm just studying or losing my time doing nothing useful, just playing videogames, surfing the internet or watching films.
I did them because I simply liked learning new things without the rush of an impending test.
What do you look for in friends? In romantic relationships?
Disclaimer: I'm a difficult person to be friends with. Before finding my boyfriend, an ENTp-Ti, I used to go out and meet my friends every two months or more. I just felt disconnected from reality every time we hung out. I often don't feel like talking and ignore people, or I prefer to had superficial friendships only based on sharing jokes.
I look for kind people who don't trigger my anxiety and are able to establish a calm, peaceful environment, 'cause I'm not able to do that by myself.
I don't really have something I look for in romantic relationship. Because of that, I think that "if your stomach feels weird, that's the proof that you're producing dopamine and that you like them".
As I said, I like people able to make me feel at peace and reassure myself (I need that a lot, because I keep on questioning the relationship and doubting). I like when they're able to stand a decent conversation without appearing imposing or dominant.
What conflicts have you encountered recently with other people? Why did they happen? Which kinds seem to happen on a regular basis?
There's this classmate, I think definitely Fi-creative, who keeps on saying that "I'm of an unique coldness" and I'm weird because of that. It's not the first time I've been told that.
I keep on clashing with SEE girls because, ffs, aggressiveness irritates me a lot. This usually ends up in catfights and discussions I'm too lazy or feared to stand. There have been a few guys who have mocked how much my movements are uncoordinated.
I usually tend to avoid conflict unless I feel like people are saying bullshits or using emotional arguments to defend their points. In this case, I fire up to stand for what I think is correct. If both sides are speaking logically, instead, I can end up standing for both sides and acting as a peacemaker. I just want correctness in thought.
I also used to instantly categorize a lot of people as "stupid", but, luckily, I've gotten over it and matured enough to stop it.
How would your friends describe you?
Avoidant yet clingy, anxious, emotional (I'm not able to find balance between too much and too less), soft.
What are your weaknesses? What criticism do you often face from others? What do you dislike about yourself?
I've been criticized for being either too cold or too emotional, scatterbrained, disorganized, undutiful (fun thing is that I myself try to be dutyful, and I criticize others when they aren't). I've been said that I'm stubborn and not willing to do what other people ask me to, this is especially because I dislike being given orders. I prefer not to bother others and, this way, not be bothered.
My big weakness is not being good at socializing. I find it hard to understand people and find words. I appreciate it when people to this for me.
In what areas of life can you manage well on your own? In what areas of your life would you like help?
I'm almost decent with money. I can come to the end of the month almost undamaged for what concerns money.
I'm not good at managing my time, but I hate when people intrude and try to organize it for me.
I'm a decent mediator, as I'm able not to get emotionally involved and bounce back and forth different points of view. I think I'm a good problem solver, as I can think of every way something could go wrong and prevent them in time, and bounce around the problem until I find a weak spot.
What things do you find to be a chore? What things do you enjoy more than others?
Studying for tests, especially if I don't love them. I found it really hard to end high school because of literature, I just couldn't put myself to study it.
I like studying, but only if I can choose the subject and don't have a deadline.
What goals, aspirations, or plans do you have for the future? How did you come to have them?
Moving to my boyfriend's city, more than 300 miles from here, and starting a life without the toxic environment of my family. I just want peace of mind.
Getting my Ph.D and close myself in a laboratory doing what I truly like, chemistry.
And this is awkward to admit for me since I used to dislike the idea of family, but settling in with that guy and starting over as a two, since we both come from difficult family stories and want to cut from the past.
If you had enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life without working, what would you do with your time?
I'd study what I like by myself, probably decide to run a laboratory and do research anyways. I don't look for particular comfort in my life, the sufficient to live is enough.
What traits do you find endearing that others might dislike? What traits are considered positive/neutral by others but tend to annoy you?
I don't mind awkwardness at all, even if it seems like people do. Sometimes I liked when people were pretentious with their knowledge when others didn't.
I absolutely hate it when people are too dominant or harsh.
What kinds of things do you do to manage and/or beautify your environment (your room, your house, etc.)? What do you think of daily chores?
I don't do anything to beautify my environment, I find it useless. The important thing is that everything works, period. I'd happily live in a spartan environment.
I tend to pile up my chores until I can't procrastinate them anymore, then do them all at once.
How do you behave around strangers?
I'm extremely formal, I don't know when it's the right time to appear friendly.
How do you react to conflict? What do you do if somebody insults or attacks you?
I usually back up, especially if there's a lot of people. I hate it, and tend to take it personally. As I said, I react only if I feel like the point the other person is making is particularly irrational and I know I can handle dismantle it.
What did you do last Friday?
I hung out with my boyfriend. Since he lives 6 hours far from here, we rarely see each other. This way I don't get too tired by the interaction and, by contrary, I wish more.
Since we can't stay at my home because of my family, even if we'd prefer it instead of going out, we took a blanket and cuddled by the lake.
The other weekends I just stay at home playing videogames and watching tv series.
What is your biggest accomplishment?
Changing school a year before my diploma without failing the year, which my professors told would have naturally happened.
What is something you regret?
Using my time so badly that I can't study other things apart from what I need in uni.
What's been on your mind? Has anything been worrying or concerning you? What problems have you encountered lately?
I suffer from social anxiety, so my paranoias are focused on that. Random problems with the strict and ethically demanding environment I've been raised in.
What are your religious or spiritual beliefs and why do you hold them?
I'm an atheist. I think that the concept of god has been created by us. How every people changed divinities is the proof for that, especially that christianity has no right in saying that it's the correct religion.
I plan on being debaptized, it makes no sense keeping it if I never believed in god.
What are your political beliefs, and why? To what extent do you care about politics?
I'm not really interested in politics, but in Italy right-wing parties tend to catalyze hatred against certain scapegoats just to gain consensus. The left wing seems more reasonable, gives decent social and economical solutions without resorting to what is tradionally accepted just because "it's always been like that".
Would you ever be interested in starting a business? Why or why not? What role would you play in it? What kind of business would it be?
I'm the lone wolf who wants to work by herself without ordering or being ordered around. So I guess I'd like to be in a small research team, better if I can work by myself. I wouldn't like being on the top of everyone doing contability.
What kind of work environment do you prefer? What do you look for in a job?
A calm yet unemotional environment, not too competitive.
I just look for something mentally stimulating which allows me to pursue what I like. I'm not a demanding person.
What is or was your favorite school subject and why?
Chemistry, of course. It always came extremely natural and easy to me because everything is linked to the rest and makes sense.
How do you approach responsibility? What do you tend to expect of others?
I think I'm decently responsible, and I expect others to do the sufficient.
Where did you go on your most recent vacation? What did you do there? How did you like it and why?
A year ago with my family, to the mountain. I hate the idea of moving out and staying in a place doing nothing meaningful just to stay with others.
What were you like as a kid? How have you changed since you were a child?
I was a little Hermione Granger, reading and learning as much as I could and scolding others for not doing so.
I hope I became softer, I know how socially unacceptable this is.
Talk about a significant event from your life.
I don't think I'm able to choose one. They all seem particularly irrelevant to me. It's always like that when people ask me to choose something from a general pool of things.
Do you like kids? Why or why not?
I don't like them and I don't see the point in having them. I don't have any maternal instinct. I don't see the point in perpetrating the species when there's already enough people on Earth. Maybe I could be a teacher, I like explaining, but nothing more.
There's some material on this thread, even if I deleted my photos.

Instinctual Variant Test
Quote:
In Enneagram theory, there are three drives, or "instincts" that are key to our survival needs. Some say that they are so deep that they penetrate into our unconscious, dictating our very desires. Each person has a "stacking." This test assesses your dominant instinct. Your second highest result will be your second instinct. For instance, you may be a self-preservation dominant with the sexual instinct as your second result. Then, you would be a sp/sx.
No matter how you view the instincts, it's always fun to take personality tests!
Sincerely,
-The test creator (a so/sx)

Can You Type Me By My Diary Entries?
This idea came to me as I was trying to think of way to be somewhat objective in giving out information to be typed as there is some bias involved. So I got a diary entry from 4 different numbers of 4 different years as I think they give a good look into my psyche.
Hopefully this will help point me in the right direction.
Anarchy Of The Soul:
Anarchy. To many people, this word has different meanings. Some see it as pure chaos while some see it as pure freedom. I believe it means both of those things, for freedom breeds chaos, just as chaos breeds freedom. It is this chaos/freedom dynamic, that is needed to truly come to life. If you don't allow yourself to think or feel whatever is in your conscious, you are imprisoning yourself from a truly great life.
By declaring that you won't let negative thoughts or feelings affect you, you are locking your life away from those circumstances. Now some people think this is ideal, but by not allowing some negative ideas to swim around your head, you become overly optimistic. But the same is true if you dwell on negative things, having a twisted, cynical outlook on life.
By allowing every thought to pass through, you will be an overall well-rounded person. Not too positive that you can't picture failure. Not too negative that you can't visualize success. So what are you waiting for? Free yourself!
Truth About Love:
What exactly is true love? This is an often debated topic that spans throughout the history of humanity. A definition that I have come across a few times is that true love is being completely transparent with and fully understanding of your significant other. I find this to be a misguided belief because it ignore one simple things about humans, we are incapable of completely understanding one another.
The sad truth is that everyone on this planet is completely alone within their minds. It is impossible to know exactly all the things going through someone's at any given time. This is pretty good anyways, if you did know every thought that passed through someone's head, you probably wouldn't like them all too much.
The only true way to love someone is to accept that you'll never understand that person. By acknowledging your own existential loneliness, you can unite and bond with others through your shared feeling. We were not built to understand each other, we were made to accept one another.
The Purpose Of Artist''s:
Frequently I have seen that people question the artists role in society. To me , art is simply a mirror of the culture that it comes from. Art''s role in society is to take a piece of society and magnify it so that even the most inferior of people could gain insight into human existence in that particular area. Whether that be to laugh at our flaws cry about our problems, scream at our fears, or be amazed at where our culture may lead one day.
My Ideal Woman:
My personal ideal woman would be comfortable in her own skin and have no problem rolling against the tide. Her hair would be elegant with a hint of recklessness to it. She would he capable of bringing me back down to earth if I fly too close to the sun. Her wit will be biting, but will never be used unless provoked. Both a campsite and a stage will be perfectly within her environment. Activities ranging from discussing pop culture and politics to nights on the town will litter our life. Not to the extent that we forget that love is also a physical and emotional game.

I find these videos interesting because I am basically like Ned, and don't know anything about stuff like this. I am inclined to type him as Fe something.

Sabrina Carpenter
Seen her typed as ENTJ before, but she seems to be an ST just based off the vibe that she gives off. I don't really see any intuition nor feeling coming off of her. My guess right now would be SLE, with LSE as a close second.

Western Astrology
You can DIY. You can check your chart here www.astro.com . They also offer some free readings, but it is much better if you use this site http://www.oocities.org/rbltre/astro/mainindex.html . For general infomation on western astrology, I recommend this site http://bobmarksastrologer.com/TOClessons.htm
For experimentations, this site www.astrotheme.com is very useful because it contains a huge database of celebrities, and you can search celebrities with a certain position, or aspect(s).
I don't do readings, but if you post your birth data I might take a look at it.

Jordan Peterson is ok but he's not dead yet and doesn't appear to have had a spiritual, emotional and mental breakdown like Ra and Jung. :shifty:
First video he basically describes his own type. The system he created is very complex yet easy to grasp once you get the basics because things start falling into place and make sense. A forum member introduced me to it and I have gone back and forth with it. I ignored it for a long time but a few of us recently started exploring and saw that there is something to this. I think it can be improved upon and not all the people using it do it justice because they distort his message.
I have an idea of his best fit type in socionics but I wanted to see what others might type him after looking through the Jordan Peterson thread.

QUOTES FROM RA URU HU
Human Design is not religious, it isnt spiritual, it isnt moralistic, its any of those things. Its just a mechanic.
We are living in a conditioning environment, even if there is an illusion of separateness, we are deeply connected to each other.
If you allow someone to be who they are and they allow you to be who you are, then thats love. Anything else is torture.
There is no one you can depend on. There is no one you can rely on. And truly, here is no one you can trust, but yourself.
Human Design gives people a chance to begin a de-conditioning process.
Follow you strategy, honor your inner authority and love your self!
We are not here to manage our lives, we are here to be entertained by them.
Do not pretend that you are alive, be alive, be here.
"The great dilemma of being awake is that I have an extraordinary consciousness that's trapped in an animal's body. I mean, this is what's it's about folks." Ra Uru Hu from Step 53 of The 64 Evolutionary Steps
"Let me tell you a black, black joke about partnership. You never know your partner. You don't. You know the thing the two of you become, maybe, depending on how deeply you look at things. But you don't know your partner at all. Think about what happens to you in a relationship. You have this hanging gate and your partner has this or that, they have this connection and you have that connection and this definition. All of a sudden you have a composite that's a creature that's totally different. And you learn to be that creature together.
But it doesn't mean that while you're that creature together when you're in the aura of your partner that you have any idea who they are. It's like parents and children, because in many ways we're much more sensitive to that. That's my chart theme for today: Parents and children. The moment a parent and a child are together in the aura they create together, they stop seeing each other. They see each other within the context of that illusion of what they become when they're together.
If you're unemotional and you have an emotional partner, when you're together you're emotional and you see that partner through the emotional lens. There is no other way. But it doesn't mean that you see them. You're seeing the "it" that the two of you become. The biblical beasts with two backs; it's another creature." Ra Uru Hu

Hauntology-- an ENTp, INTj concept?
do you ever experience something like this?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hauntology
"Critics such as Mark Fisher and Simon Reynolds have used the term to describe art preoccupied with this temporal disjunction and defined by a "nostalgia for lost futures."
The term refers to the situation of temporal, historical, and ontological disjunction in which the apparent presence of being is replaced by a deferred non-origin, represented by "the figure of the ghost as that which is neither present, nor absent, neither dead nor alive."[1] The concept is derived from Derrida's deconstructive method, in which any attempt to locate the origin of identity or history must inevitably find itself dependent on an always-already existing set of linguistic conditionsthus making "haunting the state proper to being as such."
