Not necessarily to buy, just to see something beautiful. Ikr, the concept of brands can be problematic depending on your viewpoint (youth/beauty cult, economy, racism,...) but let's appreciate the creativity and glamor.

You got a rival - or companion? - here @suedehead!

Dolce & Gabbana
Unsurprisingly: very Delta. Family + majestic + Mediterranean + quirky details, that's just awesome to me. They always create lively visuals, their signature style is instantly recognizable like Alexander McQueen's. The multinational advert campaigns are very original and cleverly staged, too, it's quite interesting to break them down.

[Socionics] LII, do you agree?

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. My name's Alex and I'm from Italy (forgive me in advance for any grammar mistake I'll make).

So, I've been investigating a lot to understand my MBTI best-fit type, but Socionics impressed me more than MBTI itself did. That's why I'm here and I hope you can help me clarifying my Socio-type.

My first choice has always been LII. I think I have a very strong Ti, developed better than any other function. I like schemes, systems, classifications and I always find myself thinking about something in order to analyze it. For example, when I watch TV advertisements, I like to think about "why did they choose this character to make that certain advertisement" or "why did he say these words instead of saying something else", often trying to find the way I would have done it.

When sticking to logic (especially in my class), sometimes people call me "cold" or "impassive", but they know I don't want to offend them in any way. It's like I always seek harmony but never expand it to others.

Talking about Ne, I think school is the primary place where I need to use it. When copying with a long/boring assignment, or preparing for an oral test, you won't find me doing the conventional job (studying any single page), but I'd rather find a new way to face it: invent strange theories, apply systems to the subject, philosophize a lot. The other day, just to give you an idea, I had an Italian oral test. It was about "I Promessi Sposi" ("The Betrothed"), the famous novel. Instead of just telling the story of one chapter, I analyzed Renzo's feelings with the 5 emotions model of "Inside Out", by mixing two or more basic emotions. Due to these crazy ideas, my schoolmate say I'm a bit weird (but in a good way).

My friends see me as reliable, often asking me about any kind of logical problem. If you ask them, they'd define me "perfectionist", "aloof" or just "smart". I don't have a constant out-of-school relashionship with them, but they kind of understand me and always respect me for my way of thinking.

The greatest struggle was to find my point on the j/p (rational/irrational) dichotomy. I think I am a j. I'm organized, prepared (even though I love improvising) and not that adaptable in changing situations. I don't see myself moving to another country in just a few days. Also, I'm very punctual and early-starting. I always try to give my 100%, at times using strategies to increas my income with less effort.

So what do you think? Am I a LII/INTj?

Just this song:

""For all the joy Thy child shall bring, The risk of grief we'll run.

To all Parents"

You're born, raised and then torn down,
to look a little more like, everyone you meet,
And everyday that goes by,
you look a little less like who you used to be.

I don't mind the people staring,
'cause I know they never see me anyway,
In these days, all the worlds the stage,
and everyone just wants to be the star.

"we'll love him while we may"

This is all too heavy,
If you believe in your self,
But no one can hurt you without your consent,
and I am not giving in.
I'm not giving in
and I'm not giving in

I don't mind the people staring,
'cause I know they never see me anyway,
And everyday that goes by,
you look a little less like who you used to be.

I don't mind the people staring,
'cause I know they never see me anyway,
In these days, all the worlds the stage,
and everyone one just wants to be the star.

This is all too heavy,
If you believe in your self,
But no one can hurt you without your consent,
And I am not giving in.

This is all too heavy,
If you believe in your self,
But no one can hurt you without your consent,
And I am not giving in.
I'm not giving in
and I'm not giving in

"I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine
For you to love - while he lives

And mourn for when he's dead.
And from the throngs that crowd
Life's lanes, I have selected you.

Now will you give her all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to
Take him back again?"

What's Wrong with Socionics (And Analytics...)

$

Recently, out of both career and personal interest, I have been studying analytics - the application of statistics and computers to analyze data for different purposes (e.g., to forecast events). I have found a few problems with it. For instance, let's say you want to determine which goods in a market basket are purchased together. You then find that pencils and paper are highly correlated - 'found together.' But, according to analytics, that relationship isn't interesting - because this is exactly what you'd expect people to buy! However, if you were to find that diapers and beer were often purchased together, now that would be interesting! What is wrong with this picture? In using this approach, the problem is that cause and effect relationships are completely ignored. The possibility of people commonly buying both diapers and beer together might just be a statistical fluke... In these cases, analytics techniques then just become a blind formula that you plug values into without using any reasoning or logic. But isn't that exactly what some of us are doing with socionics? Sometimes people completely ignore what they like in a person (the key cause and effect relationship) and just blindly follow the formula in order to determine they're dual. That's also the problem with some people's typing of others: "He must be Type X, so why isn't he going with Type Y?" Maybe it's because he doesn't like Type Y... That person who is criticizing them would then be making the same mistake of just blindly following a formula without focusing on the logic behind the other person's self-typing.

Now, does that mean that socionics (or even analytics) is severely misguided? I would say 'no.' I think that socionics can be used with success if you focus on what you like in a person. Even with analytics, I can think of all kinds of applications for it. The absolute key to both is that they cannot be used blindly without any thinking or reasoning. And even when you do use them logically, that does not guarantee success for either endeavour.

Hi Everyone

Hi. It's my first time in a forum.

Here's my story:

I've always been interested in personality quizzes. I remember taking the 16personalities quiz a while back and just moving on to the next thing without thinking about it very much. Eventually, somehow, I came back to it and decided to learn more about MBTI (I'm an ISTP by the way, even though I've always felt the possibility of INTP looming behind me). I spent a lot of time getting a feel for it on Tumblr, Reddit, Thought Catalogue, etc. (Yes, I know they are noobs but I didn't know any better at the time ). I also learnt a bit about Enneagram and Socionics during that time frame but I was preoccupied with MBTI.

I became more interested in typing people so eventually I ended up on personality-databank. Yes, I know some people there are unbearably obnoxious and judgmental, and the site's unmoderated, but it was here I really started to feel confident typing people in MBTI. It's also what got me into the Enneagram.

I self-typed myself as 5w4. I know any MB type can have any Enneatype, but I still feel paranoid about the whole situation because 5w4 is much more common with INxx than ISxx. Pertaining to instinctual variants I tested out as an sx dom but I typed myself as an sp dom after reading more on the subject. The overlapping traits between all these things confuses me. Anyway, I'm still figuring out how to enneatype people.

Enough about that, onto Socionics. So I took the Sociotype and socionics.com tests and I got SLI-Te (even though the aimtoknow beta-test gave me ILI ). I got more familiar with Socionics on WikiSocion and I felt like I left a bathtub and got into a swimming pool! Now I can think about intertype, quadras, VI, Model A, Reinin dichotomies, subtypes, and all kinds of fun stuff.

Unfortunately, a portion of people on the websites I visited were vocal about how MBTI functions must match Socionics functions. I felt really confused because I still identified more with SLI than an LSI, but then I came here. I found out they were wrong, and I was reassured. It still haunts me in the back of my mind, though. I could use some help confirming my types.

Anyway, that's my intro. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask away.

SEI says hello

Hi

Typology has been my interest for quite a while now, but I don't really have anybody to talk about it with. It's difficult to introduce Socionics to friends. I have tried but only one has taken the bait so far and actually done the work of learning what it's all about.

So that's why I wanted to join the forum now.

My type is SEI.

I know the types and the relations pretty well. Mostly from working with people in real life, typing online and reading for years. I've known typology for 10 years. However, I'm not that good with the detailed, technical stuff of the inner workings of Socionics.

I think I could contribute to the discussion on the following topics:

- DCNH
- the SEI type
- topics in Jungian psychology
- understanding the PoLR
- Criticism of duality as "the best" relation
- How to choose the right career
- On the nature of type
- The MBTI/Socionics "controversy"

It would also be really cool to do something with socionics in real life. Setting up dates and so on. Maybe in collaboration with other people. I live in Finland, so maybe getting in touch with other socionists here.

I consider Socionics the only way of learning typology really well. It's not possible using Myers-Briggs, it seduces people into a flawed understanding of types and functions. Another way is reading original works of Jung & jungians but that's very challenging and would take a lifetime. Misunderstandings always happen, but with Socionics and time there is the possibility of seeing the types clearly.

I've spent the last years reading Jungian general psychology. First I didn't understand anything, then I understood something. Now I see how undervalued and misunderstood Jung is. Some people think he is "esoteric" because he studies the psyche as immediate experience, "phenomenological psychology" if you will. That's unpopular in our time when everything should be reduced to neurology to be considered credible. Jung also uses "metaphysical" concepts, because these concepts often describe psychological phenomena better than anything else. Modern people who undervalue the reality of the psyche misunderstand this, and see it as metaphysical garbage, when it actually is phenomenology, as it always has been in the living experiences of real people.

And typology is of course a very limited way of understanding people. But at the same time that's a strength. It's limited, objective and rigid so you can at least get something right. You don't have to deal with the whole person in his complexity. You just say, "Ok, he is XXX type and then at least we know something about him, what to expect, and his compatibility with others. Let's deal with the rest later."

My interests are classical music, playing the guitar, painting, nature, dreams and ice cream

My Typing (if socionics is even a real thing)

Hi guys, I'm Number 9 large (props if you get the reference lol:)), and I stumbled on this questionnaire, which I believe is used to type people? I identify a lot with LII (INTj), ILI (INTp) and recently, LIE (ENTj). I've also believed I once was the mbti INFP, socionics ESTp, ESTj, ISTj and ENTp.

According to my last test on sociotype.com/test I value Ti, Te, Ni, Ne, have moderate Se and Si, and very low Fi and Fe.
That doesn't really type me as anything at all, so I question the validty of socionics in general.

Out of all the functions there are 8x8= 64 combinations, not 16, and my second last test got me both INTj and INTp as equally matched, with ENTj being 98% as likely.
On my most most recent test I got ISTp, with INTp and ENTj being 98% as likely.
Sometimes I wonder what bullshit I'm even studying, but still this theory catches a lot of my hours of attention, because I have a feeling that we're onto something here, especially concerning visual typing and the concept of duality, which I can relate to very well, because I tend to fall for what I think are SEE's (or ESE's), I'm not sure about that one.

Anyway here are the questions. Let me know what you think of me and my ideas, mostly. Brutal honesty, please.

What is beauty? What is love?

True love doesn't exist. It's just a concept made up by human beings to give meaning to the feeling they feel when they are physically attracted to someone. Beauty equals physical attraction, or appreciation of an objects looks.

What are your most important values?

I understand that life is inherently meaningless, therefore my values are simply relative to what I think is best. This means that in practical day to day matters, I tend to speak well of a 'live and let live' attitude. I understand that we are all in the same boat of useless existence, this is really the only thing that we have in common with all living beings, and we acknowledge it by respecting one another.

So in short, respect, treat others the way you want to be treated, and live and let live. On the other hand, I completely understand the law of the jungle and accept it as a natural state of affairs, and it seems to be a hidden human agenda aswel. In the end we are all selfish, we only help others to increase gain for ourselves.

Do you have any sort of spiritual/religious beliefs, and why do you hold (or don't) those beliefs in the first place?

I think I identify as a nihilist, as you may have noticed :)
Therefore I believe life is inherently meaningless. Our lives are not any more meaningful than that of bacteria, or flies that live for a day.

We come here, reproduce and die, that's basically the cycle of life. Meaning, as we know it, is absent, and any meaning you give to this life is equally meaningless and mundane, something to pass your time on earth by.

Opinion on war and militaries? What is power to you?

I despise war, as I think we can get a lot more profit from working together as a unified planet. I think war is stupid, serving selfish and corrupted power games, driven by fear and greed. It's the individuals and nations that think they are a unity that are the problem. In reality we are all in the same boat, and can accomplish brotherhood from that fact alone, but people are too stupid to see it.

What have you had long conversations about? What are your interests? Why?

Conversations: The meaning of life, religion, philosophy, also socionics, psychology in general, love, finding your partner.

Interested in health/medicine as a conversation topic? Are you focused on your body?

Actually I am working out for 2 years now, to attract girls. I like to discuss training programs and the best and fastest way to get ripped.

What do you think of daily chores?

Boring, mundane, try not to focus on them, procrastinate untill I get into problems and can't ignore them anymore.

Books or films you liked? Recently read/watched or otherwise. Examples welcome.

The Gladiator, Harry Potter in my teenage years. Also liked the Revenant.

What has made you cry? What has made you smile? Why?

Not being understood by others, loneliness, rejection by girls, feeling alienated and different than other people, but not in an inferior way, but more that they just don't get it, and when I try to explain myself I always end up dissapointed, not getting the well-informed responses that I long for.

In the end I mask myself with a smile, but on the inside I know I am lonely and prone to be misunderstood, while I almost always mean well..

Where do you feel: at one with the environment/a sense of belonging?

I actually don't really feel a sense of belonging (see my previous response.) in my daily life.

I identify as a nihilist though, and if I had to choose I would choose to identify with philosophers, great thinkers that were ahead of their time, living in the wrong time period.

What have people seen as your weaknesses? What do you dislike about yourself?

I dislike that I am different, while at the same time cherishing it.

I would not like to be more stupid just so I can fit in, although I am interested in what it would feel like to be fitting in.

What people see as my weakness is never ending doubts, indecision. My weakness is endless pondering over situations and usually social obligations, which I then usually, after a couple of nights bad sleep, blow off, usually regretting it later, but it's the only way to stop the never ending doubt and fear that bugs my mind at times.

What have people seen as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?

Actually I don't really get the impression that people like me all that much. Some people (I think?), like it when I give objective advice to them, but even that I think most people simply don't appreciate, as I don't either.

I think what people do like about me is my sincereness and honesty. Sadly few can meet me halfway with these qualities.
I've heard from girls that they think I'm cute, but that's not really a mental quality, more a physical one.

I also consicously exercise bodybuilding to make up for my mental 'deficiencies' of not fitting in.

In what areas of your life would you like help?

Maybe someone to do all the useless daily chores that I so hate, like cleaning up my room, renewing my identification card or other useless bureaucratic procedures that in the end always get me into trouble.

Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.

Sometimes, but at the moment I feel like I am moving somewhere useful.

I had it last year, when I was studying psychology and philosophy in college, but actually I wanted to go to law school, because I just know I am going to be jobless and useless if I finish those two studies. I'd rather philosophise in my free time about whatever I want (rather than forced topics which I might engage in only if it suits me)

Law school would serve me as a tool to obtain money, so I can engage my dreams of conducting a full-blown research on socionics (perhaps, this idea occurred to me yesterday, so it might change, because I am personally really sceptic of this ideology and perhaps pseudoscience, but I have a feeling that we're onto something here.

Especially Filatova's visual identification strikes me as very very interesting and unusual, but strikingly familiar, and it would serve me really well if I could identify personal features from people by simply looking at them.

I might write a book about that someday, if I can

What qualities do you most like and dislike in other people? What types do you get along with?

I actually find that I am very attracted to very spontaneous and fun-loving girls, who according to socionics, might identify as either ESE's or SEE's.

Have always been.

They seem to possess some fun-loving spontaneous quality that I cannot muster, and I envy them, while at the same time being attracted to them, they draw me in :-)

How do you feel about romance/sex? What qualities do you want in a partner?

I want her to be physically fit, to the same degree as me. If physical attraction would scale from 1-10 and I am an 8, then I would want her to be an 8 aswel, no more no less. This would prevent cheating, as we both know we can't get any better than ourselves.

For personal qualites, see the previous question :)

I like women who take the initiative, who are assertive and dominant in bed at least, this makes me feel like I'm not fucking a corpse you know? I don't like helpless women, I like strong individuals who know what they want and how they want it.
This I truly adore.

If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?

I would let the kid decide his life for himself mostly. I would let him make obvious mistakes I would see coming, because I know life is the best teacher, and I would only withhold him from her teachings if I would protect him from every harm, it would make life boring and meaningless ( which it already is, but you know what I mean.)

A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward and outward reaction?

Inward: I am willing to listen if their claim is concurrent with reason. If not, then I lable than as stupid inherently.

Outward: Willing to listen, if their claim is irrational, I try to ask them skeptical questions of why they say that or claim that, and try to refute it with logic, if that doesn't work I simply give up and decide that that person is probably not really worth my time lol, at least for that discussion anyway.

Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.
Prevalent social problem: Us vs Them mentality. We are all one people. We are all living beings, monkeys, horses whatever, it's all the same really, just different outtings of life. Distinctions only really exist in our minds.

Oh and mindless adherence to football clubs, wtf is that even about, the most stupid thing.

You could call me a critic, skeptic. Don't believe anything they say to you, unless you know it's true yourself, which you don't, so yea

How do you choose your friends and how do you behave around them?

I don't really choose them, they choose me, it happens naturally.

Around my friends I like to crack rude jokes and see if they crack, if they do, then they're not worth my time. If they can retalitate with equal banter, I really appreciate that lol.

I like to torment people a bit with words and unscrutinized logic, packed in a friendly manner.

How do you behave around strangers?

restrained, passive, try to light up the mood with sarcastic remarks

If you've read through all this bullshit, congratulations. I have a couple of questions for you.

- How would you type me?
- Do you think socionics represents reality? Why, why not; partial reality?
- What is the difference between ENTj-Ni and INTp-Te?

Thanks for reading.

Especially Filatova's visual identification strikes me as very very interesting and unusual, but strikingly familiar, and it would serve me really well if I could identify personal features from people by simply looking at them.

I might write a book about that someday, if I can

19. Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem?
Name one.Prevalent social problem: Us vs Them mentality.

What is beauty? What is love?
Beauty is different things to different people. It's not easily quantifiable. Love, between people, in my opinion, is bringing the best out of someone else, even at the cost of your own well being. It's seeing past the said person's flaws and seeing the potential in them that may be lost on everyone else, including their selves.
What are your most important values?
I think it's important not to be prejudiced against others, to always have an open mind. No one knows everything, and it's important to learn what you can from others.
Do you have any sort of spiritual/religious beliefs, and why do you hold (or don't) those beliefs in the first place?
I'm not too big on religion. I don't really understand the word 'spiritual'.
Opinion on war and militaries? What is power to you?
I hate war. It kills off great minds. A military is necessary as a defensive measure and disarmament is fantastic theoretically, but hindsight shows it's also impractical. Militarization is a difficult and extensive issue.
Power is understanding oneself and others. I think everyone wants to be understood deep down, and great power lies in the hands of someone that understands others and helps them understand themselves.
What have you had long conversations about? What are your interests? Why?
Many things I can't remember. I like anything and everything.
Interested in health/medicine as a conversation topic? Are you focused on your body?
No; I'd like to take better care of myself when I have the chance.
What do you think of daily chores?
Unbearable. So boring. But inevitable, as well. Life has a tendency to be unbalanced, either overbearingly consistent or all over the place; most of the time, it's the former, so chores become necessary as life itself is a chore.
Books or films you liked? Recently read/watched or otherwise. Examples welcome.
The Amber Spyglass. The last part of a trilogy; the first one was my favourite, called Northern Lights. The last one felt a little rushed to me.
What has made you cry? What has made you smile? Why?
I don't remember. I laugh a lot and when I cry, I cry a lot but I never remember when I've cried because crying feels almost dream-like to me most of the time. I do remember crying a lot in the shower listening to 'Shine on You Crazy Diamond', at one point. Strange memory.
Where do you feel: at one with the environment/a sense of belonging?
Almost nowhere. Probably only at home, but even that isn't always the case. I feel like I belong somewhere else most of the time.
What have people seen as your weaknesses? What do you dislike about yourself?
I don't get people and people don't get me. That's what I don't like.
What have people seen as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?
I don't know.
In what areas of your life would you like help?
I don't want help. Life is too long for help, you need to find things out on your own. Or maybe it's too short for help, I'm not sure.
Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.
Yes. Standardised tests. They stress me out.
What qualities do you most like and dislike in other people? What types do you get along with?
Their sense of entitlement. They can be very condescending, it's distasteful.
How do you feel about romance/sex? What qualities do you want in a partner?
Weary of it, it seems to be overrated. Someone who understands and appreciates me and someone who brings the best out of me.
If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?
I don't know. I haven't thought about it. I don't want a child, I wouldn't make a good parent.
A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward and outward reaction?
It really depends on the belief. If it's something that I'm not sure about, I'll happily listen to a new take on it. If it's something I believe in very strongly, my inward reaction is to judge them for it for a while, and unless it's an imperative belief, I'll generally forget about it later. Outward reaction is usually silence- it's either that, or we go to war over it, but that's rare because I don't like clashing with people. I think, if it's a serious belief, I'll get a bit outwardly tense around them, too. But generally I shrug it off eventually if the friendship is worth it. There's so so much more to life than being on the same wavelength with someone all the time. How else would you learn something if no one was different to you?
Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.
I see them as confusing. No one looks out for anyone else. They really contradict themselves sometimes. I really think it's wrong to look at people as a collective body, though. Everyone is not the same.
How do you choose your friends and how do you behave around them?
People who are honest with me about what I do, aren't afraid to challenge me and without any grudges, people who are also genuinely caring and very intelligent. I can talk and listen to them without wanting to leave. I really enjoy their company. But a sense of friendship has to be mutual, so friends like these are hard to come by. I'm very fortunate to have met people like this.
How do you behave around strangers?
I maintain a distance. I like to get to know people slowly, so I take it easy around them intially. There's no rush to know them.

LTRs with Conflictors?

$

0
Hey guys... So I'm finally admitting today (after a long, long period of denial) that I've been in a serious relationship with my conflictor.
I never felt like we were on the same page about anything and it was exhausting having to always explain my motives behind literally everything. He wanted to talk about things I never wanted to talk about and vice versa etc. He would get upset at me being me and I would try to play it off like it never bothered me but it did blah blah blah

Anyways I'd like to make it into a topic

Okie so.. wondering about anyone's experiences spending extended amounts of time with their conflictors?

I always felt like my brain was being slightly shut off... like because I was confused and couldn't do anything the way I normally could I just was sort of frozen in time. I knew I wasn't being myself but I also couldn't generate anything to say around him bc I was getting no external information. We had a lot of silence. Everything was about him and he basically was comfortable not knowing anything about me. He always got angry because he felt like I should have just volunteered information, but I need to know people actually want to get to know me. I'm not going to talk about anything unless I think you want to hear it, that's a principle I stand by for myself.

I don't want to vent so much, though. I'd rather hear about other people's experiences.

Also... my parents are Betas. Does anyone find if they had problems with a parent that they seek out partners of that same type or type with the same values?
This is basic psych101 but it's interesting to consider how type comes into the mix.

This is probably already in a thread but I'm too lazy to look it up :p

In addition, I would also like to add the benefits of dating your conflictor (and I would like to hear others on this as well)
:
-You can see your worst self (and grow rapidly from it)
-You develop an extremely strong center through the friction and turmoil
-You get strong/you realize nobody can hurt you anymore
-You try harder to empathize with things you wouldn't normally want to

So, in short, you build tons of character from being with your conflictor. I don't regret a single thing.

I'm going away to a different area from where I live for the summer, so hopefully that will give us space and time to heal/move on from each other bc we were pretty horrible to one another despite having a strong bond between us. It was too rocky to ever build trust.

What is beauty? What is love?
Love is the understanding of the nature of someone, and liking this nature, wanting to preserve it in the best possible state for this nature, and not for his or her own nature. Beauty generally seems to be harmony, I do not quite understand it.
What are your most important values?
Freedom, universal (existential) truth and self-valorization (and discovery)
Do you have any sort of spiritual/religious beliefs, and why do you hold (or don't) those beliefs in the first place?
Yes, I believe in a kind of god, a divine oneness, halfistic or something. It is as if "God" is the only thing that exists, and decided to separate himself from ignorance in order to experience himself and to evolve in some way. I believe in some other esoteric and theosophical things as well. My mother is a medium.
Opinion on war and militaries? What is power to you?
Sometimes they are necessary, power for me is the common concept, but it is relative to each situation and "object".
What have you had long conversations about? What are your interests? Why?
On the most profound and philosophical issues, significant ones, such as the ones of existence, of behaviors, about choices, right and wrong from the micro to the macro and the like. It's my nature.
Interested in health/medicine as a conversation topic? Are you focused on your body?
No, definitely. I'm only more connected to the appearance as something apart and I like curiosities about the functioning of the body and things like that.
What do you think of daily chores?
Limitations. Only a few are "okay", these are the ones that allow me to travel mentally away from them, like dishwashing for example.
Books or films you liked? Recently read/watched or otherwise. Examples welcome.
Many, I can not say specific. I looked recently "Fire against Fire and I liked, but I like varied genres, with much meaning as Matrix, V for Vendetta, famous of the type.
What has made you cry? What has made you smile? Why?
Onions generally. Because they make the eyes burn. I know there I do not cry for almost anything, except for songs of the genre Epicc or soundtracks and the film of Hachiko. But I would not say crying, but rather tearing. Orchestras too. Ja laughing is by anything random, I can not say why exactly, but I laugh a lot.
Where do you feel: at one with the environment/a sense of belonging?
I never felt that way, but I feel "welcomed" where they understand me or do not judge me, it's usually only with myself.
What have people seen as your weaknesses? What do you dislike about yourself?
I wanted to know how to enjoy more than is simple since I am "obliged" to live in the matter, and to have more trust and less criticism. People do not like my demotivation or my dislike / want to do mundane and practical things.
What have people seen as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?
My mood I think would be the only thing I would demonstrate to the people in the vast majority since I have many friends and relationships. Friends, I show my side mentally crazy and obsessed pels search for truth or something. I like in my good perception of anything, my intelligence and my "comicism"
In what areas of your life would you like help?
Would be great some servants who took care of the house and who satisfied me sexually kkk (lol). I want to be free and be able to do what I want, just that.
Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.
Yes, I ignored what and how much I could, until I learned that it only gets worse. I am currently experiencing some degree of depression more or less for these reasons.
What qualities do you most like and dislike in other people? What types do you get along with?
I do not like anyone who wants to take the liberty of others to increase his or that is "The Superior", or dumb or monotonous people, unattractive in any way. I do not like unfair people (which for me has to do with the two points mentioned above). I do not like exaggerated people, uncontrolled, which for me is also ignorance.
How do you feel about romance/sex? What qualities do you want in a partner?
Physical attraction (beauty) in the normal minimum. An interesting person, intelligent, companion (discovery of the world to two) and in a good mood.
If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?
Would give as much independence and freedom as possible if she were able to have and try to do it as soon as possible about everything. Would teach the minimal "values" of a thinking being.
A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward and outward reaction?
If it is something ridiculously stupid and absurd, I simply deny myself or something like that and try to forget or just keep quiet and try to forget. If it is something worthy of a human being, we debate, of course. In general what happens is that the person keeps insisting on the same point even after the arguments end or her / my patience.
Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.
Hahahahaha. Just what I got for this question.
How do you choose your friends and how do you behave around them?
I like to have fun with people who have similar thoughts or at least have a way of reasoning alike. I play and talk. I show different levels of myself depending on the friend, mute if friend x or y is present. I do not usually like to expose myself so I'm kind of impersonal.
How do you behave around strangers?
Distant, I relate basically and with the necessary. But I can not help myself if I see something funny or a little stupid even if it's not about me.

Hi, everybody. Another INTj in the mix.

Type Questionnaire

Tell me about yourself.
I'm flexible and a mix of opposites. This questionnaire isn't sufficient for typing me, so ask questions. Test my abilities.

What are your values, and why?

Unconditional positive regard, compassion, and sensitivity to individual feelings.

What else do you do on a daily basis? What are your interests and hobbies? Why do you do them?
Introspection.

Describe your relations with family and friends. What do you like and dislike about them? What do you look for in friends? In romantic relationships?
For me, people consist of those I am drawn to and all the rest. I can be drawn to someone regardless of their values and even if they don't like me or we don't get along. If I am not drawn to someone, interacting with them just feels dull and lifeless. 100% of the people I've been drawn to have been Se/Ni types, almost all Gammas.

I tend to get along a bit better with Ne/Si types, there tends to be no conflict when we interact and we tend to agree on things. But for whatever reason, I haven't yet encountered one I'm drawn to.

What conflicts have you encountered recently with other people? Why did they happen? Which kinds seem to happen on a regular basis?
Conflicts are rare and there doesn't seem to be any pattern.

How would your friends describe you?
I've been described as quiet, calm, deep, and analytical. I keep getting compared to Yoda for some reason, not sure how I feel about that. I've also been told me I'm a good listener and give good advice.

What do people generally see as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?
I tend to be objective, rational, and analytical. I point out flaws in logic and tend to use analogies. I'm open-minded and hold multiple perspectives and interpretations. I keep the future in mind and I'm aware of possible consequences. I'm not afraid of change or the unfamiliar, which can lead me to be untraditional and adventurous. I am empathetic and understanding of others' feelings. I am able to be tactful, so I usually feel confident to handle confrontations.

What are your weaknesses? What criticism do you often face from others? What do you dislike about yourself?
Poor health, lack of charisma, forgetfulness. Without conscious effort, I can neglect to pay attention to how I'm coming across. This can sometimes lead to poor communication or people not liking me much. Feedback in this area can be valuable.

In what areas of life can you manage well on your own? In what areas of your life would you like help?
I seem able to manage all areas well enough.

What things do you find to be a chore? What things do you enjoy more than others?
I dislike obligations and enjoy leisure. All my interests are mental.

What goals, aspirations, or plans do you have for the future? How did you come to have them?
I have specific plans for my survival that involve organizing my life around my health conditions so that I can recover.

If you had enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life without working, what would you do with your time?
I would focus on my health.

What traits do you find endearing that others might dislike? What traits are considered positive/neutral by others but tend to annoy you?
I might like a trait in one person but dislike the same trait in another, so I think it's more about the whole person.

What kinds of things do you do to manage and/or beautify your environment (your room, your house, etc.)? What do you think of daily chores?
I bought a nice looking container once for aesthetics. I preferred to buy to something useful over something that looked nice but would take up space and serve no additional purpose.

I don't do daily chores. Cleaning happens every once in a while/as needed.

How do you react to conflict? What do you do if somebody insults or attacks you?
I will confront them without being pulled into their fight. If you fight back, you are reacting to their provocations and letting them control you, which ultimately isn't good for either person. At the same time, if you run away or don't respond, you will look weak. My approach is to neither attack nor defend, but stand my ground and assert myself.

Respect and tact are important as well. To me, the only way to "win" is with kindness, and then "winning" is irrelevant because it isn't about that. Conflict is not a game.

What is one common misconception that people have? Explain why it is wrong.
Most people don't recognize bias too easily and as a result end up swayed by social constructs and the media. They will believe that things are good or bad because it's what they've heard or what the people around them think. This can lead people to have misconceptions about what is good or bad. At worst, they may become prejudiced and hateful.

Hello people from 16types, I would like insights about my type.

$

0
English is not my main language and I never studied it properly so probably I will make plenty of grammatical mistakes.

Hello, as the the title already says, I'm experiencing some trouble typing myself.
Important: I've already read about the types and the cognitive functions but I'm still encountering difficulties to auto type me.
I will make a list of my traits so, perhaps, it can help you guys identify characteristics of mine that correlates with some Socionics type.

-

First of all, I'm sociophobic. I am and always have been very introverted. I barely talked to anyone during my childhood, and until the present day social interactions worn me out. I can't be around people for a long period of time. In contrast, I would easily live my life with few human interactions, perhaps with one or two close people, and that's all. I hate parties, going out, don't like restaurants etc. The only thing I enjoy is going to the movies and theater, still, I don't do it often.

I'm very private and expect for my girlfriend, people don't know shit about myself or even my life in general. With acquaintances, most of the time I only discuss shared interests (I will talk more about it later on the text). I just don't talk about my problems and even though I think it's some sort of weakness to do so, I don't judge people who do it, in fact, sometimes I even think it's a bit endearing.

-

I like to think that I'm a rational person BUT I also have bipolar disorder, which leads me to some irrational actions and choices (which annoys me quite a lot). Because of it, i'm always in contact with very strong feelings and I often feel overwhelmed by them. I don't know how to control my impulses very well and I have a hard time identifying and classifying my feelings. I'm constantly having ups and downs and I have some aggressive tendencies as well.

On the other hand, I'm not very sensitive about other people's feelings. I care a lot about how my girlfriend feels and I try to be aware and supportive of her feelings and troubles, but that's it. Other people, my family included, are of little importance to me and I couldn't care less about how they feel.
I had a boyfriend before my current girlfriend (yes, I'm bisexual) and the relationship ended mostly because of my harshness and promptly to appoint problems and flaws. I always thought of it as a productive way of improving, but I'm slowly understanding that this is not always the case and some people are too sensitive to handle my "always trying to improve and perfect anything" life approach.

During my life, I was often told by my family that i'm too insensitive, too negligent of others, too harsh with my words. I have an inclination to be very bitter. I used to be nearly unbearable during my teens. I never understood why people felt so offended by what I said or why they perceived me as heartless, but I didn't care much to them so it didn't bothered me much. Going to therapy changed me a lot in that aspect and today I can communicate without hurting anyone (at least, that's how I like to see it).
Paradoxically or not, lol, some acquaintances of mine sometimes reach me out to help them with their problems. I think that happens due to the fact that I like solving problems, but I'm not quite sure as to why that happens. When this kind of situations occurs, I don't feel involved with their problems, I don't feel what they feel. That being said, sometimes I just don't know how to act or what to say, it's a bit challenging (but I like challenges, so that's ok for me).
I really do think that being bipolar have a huge influence on that. I know how is to feel like trash and kinda helpless, so most of the time*, I don't just down look at them and think "that's so stupid". If it was not for my condition, I think I just would assume people are just dumb and risible for displaying emotions. Still, I have some inclination to judge overly-sensitive people as they irritate me a bit.
* but I still do that sometimes, I just can't help it.

I don't understand at all why people feel touched when natural disasters or terrorists attacks happens. It's just a bunch of people dying, so what? People die all the time. I can't comprehend all the fuss around these situations. All that blatant commotion is just dull and fake, in my opinion. It really makes me want to puke.

Also, it's really hard for me to get emotionally involved with movies, music, plays etc. I don't recall getting teary eyed or emotional while watching/listening to something. If I cry, usually is out of anger and due to personal things related to myself only.

-

I live in my head. I'm always introspecting thinking about things and abstract ideas. I'm quite curious and I have a passion for knowledge. I love to read new theories, new ways of doing things. I can read and feel interested about almost anything really. I love to think how I could improve and perfect a system (of any kind). I see the world as a product in development, therefore, there's always new approaches and ways to perceive it.
I see myself as an idealist, in fact, I think this is what defines me the most. I'm often loosing all contact with reality to enter my inner world to think.

-

I'm very punctual, I can't recall even one time I was late for an appointment in my life. I plan in advance, and I can't stand chronically late people, they just piss the hell out of me.
I'm also very orderly and messiness makes me anxious and uneasy.

Everything in my life must be planned, tidy, organized.
I love to organize, catalogue, make charts etc.

Again, I suffer from bipolar disorder, which makes me go against my carefully planned nature and makes me act out of impulse more often than I would like. But that's an exception and occurs more during maniac episodes.
In my normal state, I always plan things in advance, even to a fault. Sometimes I plan and re-plan things so much it makes me delay my action.

-

I like art. I'm not an artist myself, although I loved drawing when I was a kid, but I really enjoy movies/plays, art exhibitions, operas and classical music in general. I can't play any instruments or do much of manual things, I'm not manually inclined.

I love mechanics. I'm passionated about cars and how they work etc. As I said, I'm not manually inclined but I know how to fix a car if I need to do it. I'm always reading about new cars and new ways to fuel them (electrical cars, lithium battery, hydrogen cell etc).
Tech in general is a huge passion of mine. As I love new ways to do things, technology is just perfect for me. Computers, photographic cameras and TVs are particularly interesting for me. I like to know how they work, and I like to see them getting more and more advanced over time and, again, I also think ways they could be improved. I can often foresee what the new features will be like.

Politics are also big in my life. I'm currently studying economics/business but I also have interests in the fields of law, international law, sociology, philosophy, history etc. The world is just a big system so I see politics (and all the others fields I listed) as a way to operate this machine.

Math is not a passion, but a tool I just use a lot. I'm too often cataloging things and seeing how often they occur, what's the chance, the percentage etc. Many times I find myself making charts and graphics. Probabilities and statistics are massive in my life. I would say I need them to function and to make sense of things.

Language is also something I'm passionated about. As of now, I can speak Portuguese (mother tongue), Spanish, Italian, French, Arabic, Hebrew and Russian. I can listen and read in English without any problem, but I don't think my writing and speaking skills are that great, so I'm not going to count it. Also, I can understand a bit of Finnish and Dutch.

Other interests of mine include:
Astronomy/astrophysics, sports (huge sports fan), psychology (and psychiatry) filmmaking, anime, comics, videogames, meteorology, veganism, feminism, zoology, geography/geopolitics, ...

-

A few words that describes me:
Sarcastic, ironic, anti-authority, iconoclast, arrogant, stubborn, low self-esteem, scrutinous, idealistic, anxious, punctual, debate loving, theoretical, dark humor, bossy, sensitive, emotional unstable, witty, curious, passionated, knowledgeable, angry.

-

Thanks for all those who took the time to read this and are eager to help typing myself more accurately.
